Ordering Certificates and Test Performances
The Matriculation Examination Board issues certificates in both digital and paper formats. A digital certificate can be downloaded from the My Studyinfo service.
If you are unable to obtain a digital certificate through the My Studyinfo service, or if you need a new digital or paper certificate to replace your original certificate, you can order one through the Board’s online service.
Orders are binding, so please read the instructions on this page carefully before placing an order. Use of the service requires authentication with online banking credentials or a mobile certificate (suomi.fi authentication). An order may be placed either by the person named on the certificate or by another person authorised through a power of attorney.
Please note: Through the Matriculation Examination Board’s online service, you can only order Matriculation Examination Certificates and translations. Your upper secondary school leaving certificate, which includes grades for completed courses or subjects, can be obtained from your school. For further information about ordering, call 0295 331 850 (1–3 p.m.) or email lautakunta@ylioppilastutkinto.fi.

Digital certificates and translated certificates
If you began completing the Matriculation Examination in spring 1990 or later, you can download a digital certificate free of charge from the My Studyinfo service. The certificate is updated whenever you improve a grade or supplement your examination with additional tests. The certificate is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. It also reflects the holder’s current name and personal details.
A Matriculation Examination Certificate can be downloaded no earlier than its date of issue: for the spring examination, this is the Saturday of week 22, and for the autumn examination, 5 December.
For older examinations, a digital certificate or a translation of the certificate can be ordered separately through the Board’s online service. If the certificate is issued in a language other than the original language of the examination, it will be marked as a translation. Use of the service requires authentication with online banking credentials or a mobile certificate (suomi.fi authentication). An order may be placed either by the person named on the certificate or by another person authorised through a power of attorney.

Verifying the authenticity of a digital certificate
A digital Matriculation Examination Certificate is authenticated with a digital certificate seal. This seal allows you to verify that the certificate was issued by the Matriculation Examination Board and that it has not been altered after being sealed. These instructions will help you verify the authenticity of a digital certificate you have received.
Paper certificates and translated certificates
If you need a paper certificate or a translation of your certificate, you can order one through the Matriculation Examination Board’s online service. Using the service requires authentication with online banking credentials or a mobile certificate (through the Suomi.fi e-Identification service). If you do not have Suomi.fi credentials, you may authorize another person to place the order on your behalf. If this is not possible, please contact the Board by email at lautakunta@ylioppilastutkinto.fi or by phone at 0295 331 850.
The certificate will be issued with the current name and personal details of the person placing the order.
Orders are binding. Certificates are usually mailed directly to the recipient within approximately ten working days of the order. Delivery times may be longer during holiday periods and peak seasons. Ordered certificates can also be collected from the Matriculation Examination Board Secretariat. The person placing the order will receive an email notification when the certificate is ready for collection.

To obtain a certified copy, you will need a paper certificate bearing the Board’s embossed seal and the signature of the certifying official. You can order such a certificate through the online service (see Additional Services below).
